The Swiss Festival Orchestra is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015. The orchestra is made up of some of the most talented musicians from Switzerland and around the world. The ensemble has quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional performances and has become one of the most sought-after orchestras in Europe. The Swiss Festival Orchestra was founded by conductor and violinist Lorenzo Viotti. Viotti was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1990, and began playing the violin at a young age. He went on to study at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and the Conservatoire de Paris, where he studied conducting with renowned conductor and teacher, Jorma Panula. Viotti founded the Swiss Festival Orchestra with the goal of creating a world-class ensemble that would showcase the best of Swiss and international talent. The orchestra's first performance was in August 2015 at the Verbier Festival, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world. The Swiss Festival Orchestra is made up of around 70 musicians, including some of the most talented young musicians from Switzerland and around the world. The orchestra's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. The ensemble has performed works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. The orchestra is also known for its performances of lesser-known works by composers such as Dvořák, Sibelius, and Shostakovich. The festival is one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world, and the orchestra's performance was highly anticipated.
