The group was founded in 2008 and has since gained international recognition for their unique blend of classical and religious music. The three members of The Priests are brothers Fr. Eugene and Fr. Martin O'Hagan, and their friend Fr. David Delargy. All three were ordained as priests in the Diocese of Down and Connor in Northern Ireland and have been friends since childhood. They all have a passion for music and have been involved in various musical projects throughout their lives. The idea for The Priests came about when Fr. Eugene and Fr. Martin were asked to sing at a wedding. They were joined by Fr. David and the three of them realized that they had a special chemistry when singing together. They decided to form a group and began performing at local events in Northern Ireland. Their big break came in 2008 when they were signed to Sony BMG. Their debut album, also titled "The Priests," was released in November of that year and quickly became a best-seller. The album features a mix of classical and religious music, including hymns and traditional Irish songs. The Priests have since released several more albums, including "Harmony" in 2009, "Noël" in 2010, and "Alleluia" in 2018. They have also performed at numerous concerts and events around the world, including a performance for Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican in 2009. One of the highlights of The Priests' career was their performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 2010. They were the first classical music group to perform at the venue since Luciano Pavarotti in 1995. The concert was a huge success and was broadcast on BBC television. The Priests have also received numerous awards and accolades for their music. They were awarded the Classical Brit Award for Album of the Year in 2009 and have been nominated for several other awards, including a Grammy Award in 2010. In addition to their music career, The Priests are also involved in various charitable organizations. They have raised money for several causes, including the Northern Ireland Hospice and the Haiti earthquake relief effort. Despite their success, The Priests remain humble and dedicated to their faith. They continue to serve as priests in their local parishes and view their music as a way to share their faith with others. In conclusion, The Priests are a unique and talented classical music ensemble consisting of three Catholic priests from Northern Ireland. Their music has touched the hearts of people around the world and they have received numerous awards and accolades for their work. They remain dedicated to their faith and continue to use their music as a way to share their message of hope and love with others.More....
