Katie Bray is a British mezzo-soprano who has established herself as one of the most exciting and versatile classical music artists of her generation. Born in 1987 in Manchester, England, Bray grew up in a musical family and began singing at a young age. She attended the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she studied with the renowned mezzo-soprano Susan Bullock. Bray's career began to take off in the early 2010s, when she won several prestigious awards and competitions. In 2012, she was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, a competition for young British singers. The following year, she won the John Christie Award at the Glyndebourne Festival, which gave her the opportunity to perform in a leading role at the festival the following year.
