Jaime Gosis was born on May 15, 1985, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. From a young age, Gosis showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Gosis received his formal music education at the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires, where he studied piano under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Bruno Leonardo Gelber. During his time at the conservatory, Gosis also studied composition and conducting, further expanding his musical knowledge and skills. In 2005, Gosis won first prize in the National Piano Competition in Argentina, which marked the beginning of his career as a professional musician. He went on to perform in numerous concerts and recitals throughout Argentina, showcasing his virtuosity and musical sensitivity. In 2008, Gosis was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. There, he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue András Schiff, who had a profound influence on Gosis' musical development. During his time in Hungary, Gosis also participated in several international piano competitions, winning first prize in the 2009 International Piano Competition in Budapest and the 2010 International Piano Competition in Vienna. These victories brought him international recognition and opened up new opportunities for him to perform in Europe and Asia. In 2011, Gosis made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City, performing a solo recital that received critical acclaim. He went on to perform in other prestigious venues, such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. Gosis' repertoire is vast and diverse, ranging from the Baroque era to contemporary music. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Frédéric Chopin, which he performs with great technical precision and emotional depth. In addition to his career as a solo pianist, Gosis is also an accomplished chamber musician and collaborates regularly with other musicians and ensembles. He has recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. Throughout his career, Gosis has received numerous awards and accolades for his musical achievements. In 2013, he was awarded the prestigious Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for his contributions to Hungarian culture. He has also been awarded the Buenos Aires City Cultural Award and the Konex Award, among others. Despite his success, Gosis remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and teach, sharing his passion for music with audiences and students around the world. His artistry and musicianship have earned him a place among the most talented and respected classical pianists of his generation.
