Igor Pikayzen is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist, conductor, and educator. Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1985, Pikayzen was raised in a family of musicians. His father, Viktor Pikayzen, was a renowned violinist and professor at the Moscow Conservatory, and his mother, Natalia Zertsalova, was a pianist. From a young age, Pikayzen showed a natural talent for music and began studying the violin at the age of five. Pikayzen's early years were spent in Moscow, where he received his primary education in music. He studied at the Gnessin School of Music, one of the most prestigious music schools in Russia, and later at the Moscow Conservatory, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in violin performance. During his time at the Moscow Conservatory, Pikayzen studied under some of the most renowned violinists in Russia, including Eduard Grach and Sergei Kravchenko. In 2007, Pikayzen moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman, one of the most celebrated violinists of our time. Pikayzen's time at Juilliard was marked by numerous achievements, including winning the school's concerto competition and performing as a soloist with the Juilliard Orchestra. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Pikayzen embarked on a successful career as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Moscow Conservatory. He has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Mariinsky Orchestra. Pikayzen's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the most celebrated composers in history, including Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Russian composers, including Shostakovich and Prokofiev. His performances are marked by a deep emotional intensity and a technical virtuosity that has earned him critical acclaim. In addition to his career as a performer, Pikayzen is also an accomplished conductor and educator. He has conducted numerous orchestras, including the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and the New York Chamber Players. He is also a dedicated educator and has taught at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world, including the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music. Throughout his career, Pikayzen has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. He has also been the recipient of the Juilliard School's Richard F. French Prize for outstanding achievement in music and the Moscow Conservatory's Gold Medal for outstanding achievement in violin performance. In addition to his many achievements, Pikayzen is also known for his philanthropic work. He is a dedicated supporter of numerous charitable organizations, including the International Rescue Committee and the Children's Cancer Foundation. He has also established the Pikayzen Foundation, which provides support and resources to young musicians who show great potential but lack the financial means to pursue their dreams.
