Samuel Hasselhorn is a German baritone who has quickly risen to prominence in the classical music world. Born on May 23, 1990, in Göttingen, Germany, Hasselhorn grew up in a musical family. His father was a church musician and his mother was a music teacher, so he was exposed to music from a young age. He began singing in choirs and playing the piano as a child, but it wasn't until he was a teenager that he discovered his love for singing. Hasselhorn studied at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in voice. He also studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Juilliard School in New York City. During his studies, he won several awards, including the 2015 International Hugo Wolf Academy Competition and the 2016 Das Lied International Song Competition. Hasselhorn's career began to take off in 2017 when he won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium. This competition is one of the most prestigious in the world for classical singers, and Hasselhorn's victory was a major milestone in his career. He was the first German singer to win the competition in over 30 years.
