After winning the Sibelius competition, Vikman's career took off. She has conducted many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. One of Vikman's most notable performances as a conductor was in 2015, when she conducted the Berlin Philharmonic in a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.
