The Divertissement is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of classical and contemporary music since their founding in 2005. The ensemble is made up of six talented musicians who are all accomplished in their own right, and together they create a sound that is both powerful and beautiful. The Divertissement was founded by violinist and artistic director, Sarah Chang. Chang had a vision of creating an ensemble that would bring together some of the most talented musicians in the world to perform classical music in a way that was fresh and exciting. She began by recruiting five other musicians who shared her passion for classical music and who were also interested in exploring new ways of interpreting and performing it. The ensemble's main members include Sarah Chang on violin, David Finckel on cello, Wu Han on piano, Philip Setzer on violin, Eugene Drucker on violin, and Lawrence Dutton on viola. Each member of the ensemble brings their own unique style and perspective to the music, and together they create a sound that is both cohesive and dynamic. The Divertissement has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Royal Albert Hall.
