As a child, Sigrid was enrolled in the prestigious Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, where she received a rigorous classical music education. She quickly excelled in her studies and began performing in public at the age of six. Sigrid's talent was recognized early on, and she was awarded numerous prizes and scholarships throughout her childhood. At the age of 12, she won first prize in the Norwegian National Piano Competition, and at 16, she was awarded the prestigious Grieg Prize for Young Musicians. After completing her studies at the Barratt Due Institute, Sigrid went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, she studied under the renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. Sigrid's career as a professional musician began in earnest after she graduated from Juilliard. She quickly gained a reputation as a talented and dynamic performer, and she was invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. One of Sigrid's most memorable performances was at Carnegie Hall in 2010. She performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the New York Philharmonic, under the baton of conductor Alan Gilbert. The performance was widely praised by critics, who hailed Sigrid's "virtuosic technique" and "emotional depth." Sigrid's career continued to flourish in the years that followed.
