He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned cellist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Thomas was exposed to classical music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Thomas showed exceptional talent and dedication to his craft, and by the age of ten, he had already won several local competitions. He continued to hone his skills and went on to study at the Vienna Conservatory of Music, where he was mentored by some of the most renowned violinists in the world. In 2003, Thomas won the prestigious International Violin Competition in Indianapolis, Indiana, which launched his career as a soloist. He went on to perform with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. One of Thomas's most notable performances was his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2005, where he received a standing ovation for his performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. He has since performed at Carnegie Hall several times, and his performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. In addition to his solo performances, Thomas has also collaborated with other musicians and ensembles. He has performed with pianist Lang Lang, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and the Emerson String Quartet, among others. He has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin.
