Hubert Rutkowski is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born on May 23, 1971, in Szczecin, Poland, Rutkowski showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and went on to win numerous competitions and awards throughout his youth. Rutkowski's musical education began at the State Secondary Music School in Szczecin, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Maria Koszewska. He later continued his studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he earned a Master's degree in piano performance. During his time at the university, Rutkowski had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned pianists and pedagogues of the time, including Andrzej Jasiński, Jan Ekier, and Halina Czerny-Stefańska. After completing his studies, Rutkowski began to establish himself as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world. He has appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Warsaw Philharmonic, the National Philharmonic of Russia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with some of the most distinguished conductors of our time, including Jerzy Maksymiuk, Antoni Wit, and Tadeusz Strugała. Rutkowski's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance, emotional depth, and interpretive insight. He is particularly renowned for his interpretations of the music of Fryderyk Chopin, whose works he has recorded extensively. His recordings of Chopin's complete Nocturnes and Mazurkas have been hailed as definitive interpretations of these iconic works, and have earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards. In addition to his work as a performer, Rutkowski is also a dedicated teacher and pedagogue. He has taught at some of the most prestigious music schools and conservatories around the world, including the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He is also a frequent guest lecturer and masterclass teacher at music schools and festivals around the world. Throughout his career, Rutkowski has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the world of classical music. In 1994, he was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Rome, and in 1995 he won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Cantu, Italy. He has also been awarded the Fryderyk Chopin Society's Medal for his contributions to the promotion and interpretation of Chopin's music, and in 2016 he was awarded the prestigious Gloria Artis Gold Medal for his outstanding contributions to Polish culture.
