The Danish Radio Orchestra, also known as the DR Symphony Orchestra, is a classical music ensemble based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The orchestra was founded in 1925 as part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, which was established to provide radio broadcasts to the Danish public. The orchestra's founding conductor was Launy Grøndahl, who led the ensemble until 1955. Over the years, the Danish Radio Orchestra has become one of the most respected and renowned orchestras in Europe.
