The Benedetti Foundation Orchestra is a classical music ensemble founded by Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti in 2020. The orchestra is made up of young musicians from across the United Kingdom who are passionate about classical music and dedicated to honing their craft. Nicola Benedetti, who serves as the orchestra's artistic director, is a world-renowned violinist who has won numerous awards for her performances and recordings. She founded the Benedetti Foundation in 2019 with the goal of providing young musicians with access to high-quality music education and performance opportunities. The Benedetti Foundation Orchestra is one of the foundation's flagship programs. The orchestra is made up of musicians between the ages of 14 and 21 who are selected through a rigorous audition process. The musicians come from all over the UK and are chosen based on their talent, dedication, and potential. The orchestra's main members include Nicola Benedetti, who serves as the artistic director and lead violinist, and conductor Maxim Emelyanychev. Emelyanychev is a Russian conductor who has worked with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Since its founding, the Benedetti Foundation Orchestra has performed at some of the UK's most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican Centre.
