Born in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1980, Hlinka showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. Hlinka's musical education continued at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Peter Toperczer.
