Her father was a renowned cellist, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Annie was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Annie's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons with her mother and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. By the age of ten, Annie had already won several local piano competitions and was performing in public regularly. At the age of twelve, Annie was accepted into the prestigious Conservatoire de Paris, where she studied under the renowned pianist and teacher, Pierre-Laurent Aimard. Under his guidance, Annie's skills as a pianist flourished, and she quickly became one of the most promising young musicians in France. Annie's breakthrough performance came in 2001 when she won the International Piano Competition in Geneva, Switzerland. Her performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111, was hailed by the judges as a "remarkable achievement" and earned her a standing ovation from the audience. Following her success in Geneva, Annie began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls around the world. She made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2003, where she performed a program of works by Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy to critical acclaim. Over the next few years, Annie continued to perform at major concert halls and festivals around the world, including the Salzburg Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the BBC Proms. She also began to record extensively, releasing several highly acclaimed recordings of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy. In 2008, Annie was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides financial support to help them develop their careers. The award helped to further raise Annie's profile and cement her reputation as one of the most talented and promising young pianists of her generation. Annie's career continued to flourish throughout the 2010s, with highlights including performances at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. She also continued to record extensively, releasing several highly acclaimed recordings of works by Schumann, Brahms, and Ravel. In 2016, Annie was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in recognition of her contributions to the arts. The award is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon an artist in France and is a testament to Annie's status as one of the country's most celebrated classical musicians.
