Walter Reiter is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Germany in 1966, Reiter showed an early interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of six. He was a prodigious talent and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills. Reiter's musical education began at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned violinist Ana Chumachenco. He later went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Scholarship. Throughout his career, Reiter has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the English Chamber Orchestra. He has also collaborated with many distinguished conductors, such as Sir Neville Marriner, Sir Roger Norrington, and Sir John Eliot Gardiner. One of the highlights of Reiter's career was his performance of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 with the English Baroque Soloists under the direction of Sir John Eliot Gardiner. The performance was widely acclaimed and showcased Reiter's exceptional talent and musicianship. In addition to his work as a soloist, Reiter is also a highly respected chamber musician. He has performed with many distinguished ensembles, including the London Haydn Quartet, the Salomon Quartet, and the London Baroque. He is also a founding member of the ensemble Musica Poetica, which specializes in the performance of Baroque music. In 1992, he was awarded the prestigious Erwin Bodky Award for his outstanding contributions to the performance of early music. He is currently a professor of violin at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.
