Sebastian Peschko was born on May 10, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, with both his parents being professional classical musicians. His father was a renowned pianist, and his mother was a violinist. From a young age, Sebastian was exposed to classical music and began showing an interest in playing the piano. At the age of five, Sebastian began taking piano lessons from his father. He showed a natural talent for the instrument and quickly progressed. By the age of ten, he had already won several local piano competitions. His parents recognized his potential and decided to enroll him in the Vienna Conservatory of Music. At the conservatory, Sebastian studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in Austria. He spent countless hours practicing and perfecting his technique. His hard work paid off when he won first prize in the prestigious International Piano Competition in Vienna at the age of 16. After completing his studies at the conservatory, Sebastian was offered a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. He accepted the offer and moved to the United States to further his education. At Juilliard, he studied under the tutelage of some of the most respected piano teachers in the world. During his time at Juilliard, Sebastian participated in several competitions and won numerous awards. In 2005, he won first prize in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. This win catapulted him to international fame and established him as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Sebastian's career took off after his win at the Van Cliburn competition. He began performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He also began collaborating with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras in the world. In 2008, Sebastian released his debut album, which featured works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. The album received critical acclaim and established him as a leading interpreter of classical piano music. He went on to release several more albums, each one showcasing his virtuosic technique and musical sensitivity. Throughout his career, Sebastian has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. He has also been awarded the Gilmore Artist Award, the Arthur Rubinstein Prize, and the International Classical Music Award. In addition to his performing career, Sebastian is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses at some of the most prestigious music schools around the world, including the Juilliard School, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Conservatoire de Paris.
