In 1962, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major. In 1964, he was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque for his recording of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major. Pech continued to perform well into his later years, and his last public performance was in 2002, when he performed at the Vienna Konzerthaus. He passed away on December 31, 2003, at the age of 71.
