Nicoleta Paraschivescu is a Romanian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on December 22, 1985, in Bucharest, Romania, Paraschivescu showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with renowned Romanian pianist and pedagogue, Viniciu Moroianu. Under Moroianu's guidance, Paraschivescu developed a deep understanding of the classical repertoire and honed her technical skills. She also began to perform in public, winning her first competition at the age of nine. Over the next few years, she continued to win numerous awards and accolades, including first prize at the National Piano Competition in Bucharest and the International Piano Competition in Sinaia. In 2001, Paraschivescu was accepted into the prestigious George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest, where she continued her studies with Moroianu. During this time, she also began to perform extensively throughout Romania, appearing as a soloist with the National Radio Orchestra, the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra, and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2004, Paraschivescu was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied with renowned pianist Christopher Elton. During her time at the Academy, she continued to win awards and prizes, including the Harold Craxton Prize for Accompaniment and the Christian Carpenter Prize for Piano. After completing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Paraschivescu embarked on a successful international career as a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Carnegie Hall in New York. Paraschivescu has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. She has worked with many renowned conductors, including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Simon Rattle, and Valery Gergiev. In addition to her performances as a soloist and chamber musician, Paraschivescu is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Bucharest National University of Music, and has given masterclasses and workshops around the world. Throughout her career, Paraschivescu has received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to classical music. In 2010, she was awarded the Romanian Order of Cultural Merit for her outstanding achievements in the field of music. She has also been named a Steinway Artist, an honor reserved for the world's most accomplished pianists. Paraschivescu's recordings have received critical acclaim and have been featured on radio and television broadcasts around the world. Her debut album, featuring works by Chopin, Liszt, and Enescu, was released in 2008 and was praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth.
