She was born into a family of musicians, and her father was a well-known conductor and composer. From a young age, Hrsel showed a great interest in music, and her parents encouraged her to pursue her passion. Hrsel began her musical education at the Prague Conservatory, where she studied piano and composition. She later continued her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she focused on conducting. During her time at the academy, Hrsel was mentored by some of the most prominent conductors of the time, including Vaclav Talich and Karel Ancerl. After completing her studies, Hrsel began her career as a conductor, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and innovative conductors of her generation. She was known for her ability to bring out the best in her musicians and for her unique interpretations of classical works. Throughout her career, Hrsel conducted some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She also conducted many of the leading opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Royal Opera House in London. One of the highlights of Hrsel's career was her performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1963. The performance was widely acclaimed, and Hrsel was praised for her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the work. Hrsel was also a prolific recording artist, and she recorded many of the great works of classical music.
