Shannon Lee, the pianist of the trio, is a graduate of the Peabody Institute and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Asia. She has won several awards, including the Peabody Institute Piano Department Award and the Yamaha Young Performing Artist Award. The Red Cedar Trio has performed at numerous venues and festivals throughout the United States and Canada, including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada. They have also collaborated with several renowned musicians, including violinist Midori and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. One of the highlights of the Red Cedar Trio's career was their performance at the Kennedy Center in 2010. The trio performed a program of works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Dvorak, which was met with critical acclaim.
