Manuel Lanza was a Spanish baritone opera singer who was born on January 26, 1971, in Barcelona, Spain. He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known tenor. Lanza grew up surrounded by music and began singing at a young age. He studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, where he received his degree in singing. Lanza's career began in 1995 when he made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, where he played the role of Escamillo in Georges Bizet's opera Carmen. This performance was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of Lanza's career as an opera singer. He quickly became known for his powerful voice and his ability to convey emotion through his singing. Over the years, Lanza performed in many of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He was known for his performances in operas such as Verdi's Rigoletto, Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, and Puccini's La bohème.
