Anca Vasile Caraman is a Romanian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on December 22, 1985, in Bucharest, Romania, Anca showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents, both music lovers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Anca's musical education began at the George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Viniciu Moroianu. She continued her studies at the National University of Music in Bucharest, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. During her studies, Anca participated in numerous national and international competitions, winning several awards and prizes. In 2008, Anca moved to the United States to pursue a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas. There, she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Vladimir Viardo. During her time at UNT, Anca won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Concerto Competition, which allowed her to perform as a soloist with the UNT Symphony Orchestra. After completing her Master's degree, Anca continued her studies at the University of North Texas, where she earned a Doctorate in Piano Performance. During her doctoral studies, Anca focused on the music of Franz Liszt, one of the most important composers and pianists of the Romantic era. Her research culminated in a doctoral dissertation on Liszt's Sonata in B minor, one of the composer's most famous and challenging works. Anca's career as a concert pianist began while she was still a student at the University of North Texas. She performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, earning critical acclaim for her virtuosity, musicality, and sensitivity. Her repertoire includes works by a wide range of composers, from Bach and Mozart to Chopin and Rachmaninoff. One of the highlights of Anca's career was her performance at the 2010 International Piano Festival in San Antonio, Texas. There, she performed a solo recital that included works by Liszt, Chopin, and Prokofiev. Her performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and she was invited to perform at the festival again in 2012. Another highlight of Anca's career was her performance at the 2014 International Piano Festival in Beijing, China. There, she performed a solo recital that included works by Liszt, Chopin, and Debussy. Her performance was met with enthusiastic applause, and she was invited to perform at the festival again in 2016. In addition to her career as a concert pianist, Anca is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught piano at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington, and she has given masterclasses and workshops at universities and music schools around the world. Her students have won numerous awards and competitions, and many have gone on to successful careers as professional musicians. Anca's talent and dedication have earned her numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 2010, she was awarded the prestigious Presser Graduate Music Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in music performance and scholarship.
