New Classical Orchestra is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by a group of musicians who shared a passion for classical music. The ensemble is based in New York City and is known for its innovative and dynamic performances. The founding members of New Classical Orchestra were violinist and conductor Dongmin Kim, cellist and conductor Yves Dharamraj, and pianist and conductor Soyeon Kate Lee. All three musicians had extensive experience performing with other ensembles and orchestras before coming together to form New Classical Orchestra. From the beginning, the ensemble's goal was to bring a fresh perspective to classical music and to engage audiences in new and exciting ways. They achieved this by incorporating elements of theater, dance, and multimedia into their performances, as well as by collaborating with artists from other disciplines. One of the highlights of New Classical Orchestra's early years was their performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in 2007.
