Julia Seager Scott was a British composer and pianist who lived from 1882 to 1969. She was born in London to a family of musicians, and her father was a well-known conductor. From a young age, Julia showed a talent for music, and she began studying piano and composition at the Royal Academy of Music when she was just 14 years old. Julia's early compositions were well-received, and she quickly gained a reputation as a talented young composer. In 1903, she won the prestigious Mendelssohn Scholarship, which allowed her to study in Germany with some of the leading composers of the time, including Max Bruch and Ferruccio Busoni.
