Role:EnsembleThe New England Conservatory Percussion Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1972 at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. The ensemble is made up of students and faculty members of the conservatory, and is dedicated to the performance of contemporary and classical percussion music. The ensemble performed a program of contemporary percussion music, which included works by John Cage, Steve Reich, and Lou Harrison. The performance was widely praised by critics, and helped to establish the ensemble as one of the leading percussion ensembles in the world. In 1990, the ensemble performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Dallas, Texas.
