Matthias Foremny is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a conductor and pianist. Born on August 22, 1976, in Leipzig, Germany, Foremny showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He went on to study at the Leipzig Conservatory and later at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, where he received his diploma in conducting. Foremny's career as a conductor began in 1999 when he was appointed as the assistant conductor of the Leipzig Opera. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was soon invited to conduct orchestras across Europe, including the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Foremny's career came in 2003 when he was appointed as the principal conductor of the MDR Symphony Orchestra in Leipzig. During his tenure, he led the orchestra in numerous performances and recordings, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. In addition to his work as a conductor, Foremny is also an accomplished pianist. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world, including the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Foremny has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2005, he was awarded the German Music Prize for Young Artists, and in 2010, he received the prestigious Echo Klassik Award for his recording of Schumann's Piano Concerto. One of the most memorable performances of Foremny's career came in 2013 when he conducted the world premiere of Wolfgang Rihm's opera "Dionysos" at the Salzburg Festival. The performance was widely praised by critics and cemented Foremny's reputation as one of the most talented conductors of his generation. In addition to his work as a conductor and pianist, Foremny is also a dedicated teacher. He has served as a professor of conducting at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig since 2007 and has mentored numerous young musicians who have gone on to successful careers in the classical music world. Despite his many accomplishments, Foremny remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
