Irena Troupova-Wilde was born on May 12, 1985, in Prague, Czech Republic. She was born into a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Irena showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Irena's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Jiri Hlinka, at the age of six. Under his guidance, Irena quickly developed her skills and began performing in public at the age of eight. At the age of ten, Irena won her first major competition, the Prague Junior Piano Competition. This was the beginning of a long and successful career as a classical pianist. Over the years, Irena continued to win numerous competitions and awards, including the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland, and the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain. Irena's talent and dedication to her craft led her to study at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world. She attended the Prague Conservatory, where she studied with Jiri Hlinka, and later went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, where she studied with Christopher Elton. Throughout her career, Irena has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. One of Irena's most memorable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008. She performed a program of works by Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven to a sold-out audience. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with The New York Times describing Irena as "a pianist of extraordinary talent and sensitivity." In addition to her performances, Irena is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Prague Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Music, and has given masterclasses around the world. Her students have gone on to win numerous competitions and awards, and many have gone on to successful careers as professional musicians. Throughout her career, Irena has received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to classical music. In 2010, she was awarded the Order of Merit by the Czech Republic for her contributions to the arts. She has also been awarded the Medal of Honor by the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Medal of Honor by the Chopin Society in Warsaw. Despite her many accomplishments, Irena remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform and teach around the world, and is committed to sharing her love of music with others.
