The London Symphonic Band is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1976 in London, Ontario, Canada. The band was one of only two Canadian ensembles invited to perform at the conference, which is considered one of the most prestigious events in the world of classical music. The London Symphonic Band's performance was highly acclaimed, and it helped to establish the band's reputation as a world-class ensemble. In addition to its performance at the WASBE conference, the London Symphonic Band has also performed at numerous other prestigious events and venues. The band has also performed at various music festivals, including the Stratford Summer Music Festival and the Elora Festival. Over the years, the London Symphonic Band has received numerous awards and accolades for its performances. In 1996, the band was awarded the John Adaskin Award for Excellence in Canadian Music. This award is given to Canadian ensembles that have made significant contributions to the development of classical music in Canada.
