He also studied composition and music theory, which would later inform his own creative work as a composer. In 2003, Margaritov was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he continued his piano studies with renowned pianist Christopher Elton. During his time at the Academy, Margaritov won several prestigious awards, including the Harold Craxton Prize for Accompaniment and the Christian Carpenter Prize for Piano. His repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing works by classical masters such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, as well as contemporary composers such as Arvo Pärt and Sofia Gubaidulina. In addition to his career as a performer, Margaritov is also an accomplished composer. His compositions draw on a variety of musical influences, including classical, jazz, and Bulgarian folk music.
