Thomas Savy is a renowned French bass clarinetist and composer who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born on December 4, 1971, in Paris, France, Savy grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. From a young age, Savy was exposed to a wide range of musical genres, which sparked his interest in music. Savy began his musical journey by learning the piano at the age of six. However, he soon discovered his love for the clarinet and started playing it at the age of nine. He was fascinated by the sound of the bass clarinet and decided to pursue it as his primary instrument. Savy's parents were supportive of his musical aspirations and encouraged him to pursue his passion. Savy's talent and dedication to music were evident from a young age. He attended the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, where he studied under the guidance of renowned clarinetist Guy Dangain. Savy's hard work and dedication paid off when he won the first prize at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris at the age of 16. After completing his studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, Savy continued his musical education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He studied under the tutelage of renowned clarinetist Michel Arrignon and graduated with a degree in clarinet performance. One of Savy's most significant achievements was his collaboration with the legendary jazz pianist and composer Michel Petrucciani. Savy joined Petrucciani's band in 1997 and toured with him for two years. He also recorded two albums with Petrucciani, which received critical acclaim. His compositions have been performed by renowned musicians and ensembles around the world. Savy's career reached new heights in 2005 when he released his debut album, "Sous influences."
