Urban Claesson was born on May 15, 1985, in Stockholm, Sweden. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Urban showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Urban's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, Urban had already performed in several concerts and had won several local competitions. In 1997, Urban was accepted into the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied under the guidance of some of the most renowned pianists in Sweden. After completing his studies at the Royal College of Music, Urban continued his education at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under the tutelage of some of the most renowned pianists in the world, including Emanuel Ax and Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Urban participated in several competitions and won several awards, including the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. His performance at the competition was widely praised, and he was hailed as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Urban embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Urban's performances have been widely praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth.
