He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Joseph showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Joseph's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, Joseph had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigy. In 1997, Joseph was accepted into the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where he continued his musical education under the guidance of renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Joseph won numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in 2002. After graduating from Juilliard, Joseph went on to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. While at Curtis, Joseph studied with renowned pianists such as Gary Graffman and Claude Frank. Joseph's career as a concert pianist began to take off in the early 2000s. He made his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2003, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 under the baton of Lorin Maazel. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and Joseph was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the next few years, Joseph performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He also made several recordings, including a critically acclaimed album of Chopin's piano music. In 2008, Joseph was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music. The grant recognized Joseph's exceptional talent and potential as a concert pianist and provided him with financial support to further his career. In addition to his career as a concert pianist, Joseph is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music, and has given masterclasses around the world. Many of his students have gone on to successful careers as pianists themselves.
