Mona Julsrud is a Norwegian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a talented pianist and composer. Born on May 12, 1985, in Oslo, Norway, Mona showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents, both music lovers, encouraged her to pursue her passion for music, and she quickly developed a natural talent for the instrument. As a child, Mona attended the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, where she received formal training in piano performance and music theory. She also studied composition and music history, developing a deep appreciation for the classical music tradition. Her teachers recognized her exceptional talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. In 2003, Mona was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she continued her studies in piano performance. At Juilliard, she had the opportunity to work with some of the world's most renowned pianists and composers, including Emanuel Ax, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and John Corigliano. She also performed in numerous concerts and recitals, showcasing her exceptional talent and earning critical acclaim. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Mona returned to Norway and began performing professionally as a pianist and composer. She quickly established herself as one of the country's most promising young musicians, earning praise for her technical skill, musicality, and emotional depth.
