Gottfried Bach was a German classical music artist who was born on March 8, 1685, in Erfurt, Germany. He was a member of the famous Bach family, which produced many renowned musicians, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Christoph Bach, and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. Gottfried Bach was the son of Johann Christoph Bach, who was a musician and composer. He received his early musical training from his father and later studied with Johann Pachelbel, a famous German composer and organist. Gottfried Bach was a talented musician from a young age, and he quickly gained a reputation as a skilled keyboard player and composer. In 1703, Gottfried Bach was appointed as the organist at the St. Boniface Church in Arnstadt, Germany. He held this position for several years and gained valuable experience as a performer and composer. During this time, he also became acquainted with his cousin, Johann Sebastian Bach, who was also working as an organist in the area. In 1708, Gottfried Bach was appointed as the court musician for the Duke of Saxe-Weimar. In 1717, Gottfried Bach was appointed as the court musician for the Duke of Sachsen-Eisenach. In 1723, Gottfried Bach was appointed as the court musician for the Duke of Sachsen-Gotha.
