Ania Vegry was born on May 15, 1985, in Warsaw, Poland. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Ania showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Ania's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Janusz Olejniczak, at the age of six. Under his guidance, Ania developed her skills and quickly became a prodigy. At the age of ten, Ania made her debut performance at the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, and she was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the next few years, Ania continued to perform at various concerts and festivals across Europe. She won several awards and competitions, including the International Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists in 1998 and the International Piano Competition in Rome in 2001. In 2003, Ania moved to the United States to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. She studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Emanuel Ax, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2007. After graduating from Juilliard, Ania began performing at major concert halls around the world. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Ania's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. She is known for her ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music she plays, and her performances are often described as mesmerizing and captivating. In addition to her performances, Ania is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at several music schools and universities, including the Juilliard School and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Ania has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2010, she was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. She was also named a Steinway Artist in 2012, an honor reserved for the world's most accomplished and talented pianists.
