Badini was the son of a musician, and he grew up in a family that was passionate about music. His father, Carlo Badini, was a cellist, and his mother, Maria, was a pianist. From a young age, Badini showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Badini began his musical education at the age of six when he started taking piano lessons. He showed remarkable talent and quickly progressed, impressing his teachers with his ability to play complex pieces. At the age of ten, he started playing the cello, and it soon became his primary instrument. He continued to study both the piano and the cello, and by the time he was a teenager, he was already performing in public. In 1917, Badini enrolled at the Milan Conservatory, where he studied under the renowned cellist and composer, Alfredo Piatti. Piatti was impressed by Badini's talent and took him under his wing, mentoring him and helping him to develop his skills. Badini's hard work and dedication paid off, and he graduated from the conservatory with top honors in 1921. After graduating, Badini began his professional career as a cellist, performing in various orchestras and ensembles.
