Laura Vukobratovic is a classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist and composer. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, on May 5, 1995, Laura showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. Laura's early years were spent studying music at the Music School "Mokranjac" in Belgrade. She quickly excelled in her studies and was soon performing in concerts and competitions. In 2008, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Petar Konjovic" in Belgrade, which was a major milestone in her career. In 2010, Laura moved to the United States to continue her music education. She enrolled at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where she studied piano with Dr. Thomas Lymenstull. During her time at Interlochen, Laura won numerous awards and competitions, including the 2012 Interlochen Concerto Competition and the 2013 Chopin Foundation Scholarship. After graduating from Interlochen in 2013, Laura attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Dr. Sergei Babayan. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in 2017 and her Master of Music degree in 2019. While at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Laura won several awards, including the 2016 Cleveland Institute of Music Concerto Competition and the 2017 Cleveland Institute of Music Piano Competition. Laura has performed in numerous concerts and festivals around the world. She has performed as a soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, and the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra, among others. She has also performed in festivals such as the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City and the International Piano Festival in Belgrade. In addition to her performances as a pianist, Laura is also a composer. She has written several pieces for piano, including "Reflections," which was premiered at the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2018. Her compositions have been performed in concerts and festivals in the United States and Europe. Laura's talent and hard work have earned her numerous awards and recognitions. In addition to the awards mentioned above, she has also won the 2015 Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition, the 2016 Thomas and Evon Cooper International Competition, and the 2018 World Piano Teachers Association International Piano Competition. Laura's dedication to music and her passion for the piano have made her a rising star in the classical music world. Her performances and compositions have captivated audiences around the world, and she continues to inspire young musicians to pursue their dreams.
