Daniela Lojarro is a classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the world of opera. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, on May 12, 1985, Daniela grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a singer, so it was only natural that Daniela would develop an interest in music at a young age. Daniela began her musical training at the age of six when she started taking piano lessons. She quickly showed a talent for the instrument and was soon performing in recitals and competitions. However, it wasn't until she was a teenager that she discovered her true passion for singing. At the age of 15, Daniela joined a local choir and began taking voice lessons. She quickly realized that singing was her true calling and decided to pursue a career in opera. She enrolled in the National University of Colombia's music program, where she studied under the guidance of renowned vocal coach, Maria Isabel Murillo. During her time at the National University of Colombia, Daniela honed her skills as a singer and performer. She participated in numerous concerts and recitals, and her talent did not go unnoticed. In 2007, she was awarded the National University of Colombia's prestigious "Best Vocal Performance" award. After graduating from the National University of Colombia, Daniela continued her studies at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva, Switzerland. There, she studied under the tutelage of renowned opera singer, Cecilia Bartoli. It was during her time in Geneva that Daniela truly blossomed as a performer. In 2010, Daniela made her professional debut in the role of Susanna in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Geneva Opera House. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, and she quickly became a rising star in the world of opera. Over the years, Daniela has performed in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. One of Daniela's most memorable performances was her portrayal of Violetta in Verdi's "La Traviata" at the Metropolitan Opera in 2015. Her performance was hailed as "mesmerizing" and "heartbreaking," and it earned her a nomination for the prestigious "Best Female Opera Singer" award at the International Opera Awards. In addition to her work as an opera singer, Daniela is also a passionate advocate for music education. She has worked with numerous organizations to promote music education in schools and communities around the world. In 2018, she was awarded the "Music Education Advocate of the Year" award by the National Association for Music Education.
