Fernando Viani was born on May 12, 1985, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Viani showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Viani's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires. He studied under the guidance of some of the most prominent music teachers in the country and quickly became known for his exceptional talent. At the age of 12, Viani made his debut as a soloist with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor. The performance was a huge success, and Viani received critical acclaim for his virtuosity and musicality. Over the next few years, Viani continued to perform as a soloist with various orchestras in Argentina and other countries. He also began to compose his own music, drawing inspiration from his classical training and his love of Argentinean folk music. In 2003, Viani was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. He moved to the United States and began studying under the tutelage of some of the most renowned pianists in the world, including Emanuel Ax and Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Viani continued to perform as a soloist and chamber musician, both in the United States and abroad. He also began to receive recognition for his compositions, winning several awards for his original works. In 2007, Viani graduated from Juilliard with a Bachelor of Music degree. He then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist Gary Graffman. While at Curtis, Viani continued to perform and compose, and he also began to teach piano to young students. He found that he had a natural talent for teaching and enjoyed sharing his love of music with others. After graduating from Curtis in 2009, Viani moved back to Buenos Aires and began to establish himself as a prominent figure in the Argentinean classical music scene. He continued to perform as a soloist and chamber musician, and he also began to teach at the National Conservatory of Music. In 2012, Viani was awarded the prestigious Konex Award, which recognizes outstanding achievements in the arts in Argentina. The award was a testament to Viani's talent and dedication to his craft, and it helped to solidify his reputation as one of the most promising young musicians in the country. Over the next few years, Viani continued to perform and teach, and he also began to collaborate with other artists in different genres. He worked with tango musicians, jazz musicians, and even rock musicians, bringing his classical training and unique perspective to a variety of musical styles. In 2017, Viani released his debut album, "Tango Reflections," which featured his own compositions as well as arrangements of traditional Argentinean tango music. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Viani as a versatile and innovative musician. Today, Viani continues to perform, compose, and teach, and he remains committed to sharing his love of music with others.
