Máté Sólyom-Nagy is a Hungarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on May 22, 1992, in Budapest, Hungary, Sólyom-Nagy showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with renowned Hungarian pianist and pedagogue, Kálmán Dráfi. Under Dráfi's tutelage, Sólyom-Nagy developed a deep understanding of the classical repertoire and honed his technical skills. He also began to perform in public, winning his first competition at the age of nine. Over the next few years, he continued to win numerous awards and accolades, including first prize at the National Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Hungary in 2004 and 2006. In 2007, Sólyom-Nagy was accepted into the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. There, he studied with renowned pianists and pedagogues such as György Nádor and Balázs Szokolay. He also had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists such as András Schiff and Zoltán Kocsis. During his time at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Sólyom-Nagy continued to win awards and competitions, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome in 2010 and the International Piano Competition in San Marino in 2011. He also performed in numerous concerts and recitals throughout Hungary and Europe, including a performance at the Budapest Spring Festival in 2012. In 2013, Sólyom-Nagy was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Christopher Elton. During his time at the Royal Academy of Music, he continued to perform in concerts and recitals, including a performance at the Wigmore Hall in London in 2014. After completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Sólyom-Nagy embarked on a successful international career as a concert pianist. He has performed in major concert halls and festivals throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, including the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Festival Hall in London, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna. Sólyom-Nagy's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance, musical sensitivity, and emotional depth. He is known for his ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music he plays, and for his passionate and expressive playing style. He has also been praised for his interpretations of the works of Hungarian composers such as Béla Bartók and Franz Liszt. In addition to his performing career, Sólyom-Nagy is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught masterclasses and given lectures at music schools and universities throughout Europe and Asia, and has served as a jury member for numerous international piano competitions. Throughout his career, Sólyom-Nagy has received numerous awards and accolades for his performances and recordings. He has also been awarded the Grand Prix du Disque by the Hungarian Recording Academy for his recordings of works by Franz Liszt and Béla Bartók.
