Duo Granat is a classical music ensemble consisting of two talented musicians, violinist Maria Granat and pianist Janusz Granat. The duo was founded in 2005 and has since become one of the most renowned ensembles in the classical music world. Maria Granat was born in Poland and began playing the violin at the age of six. She studied at the Academy of Music in Krakow and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany. Janusz Granat, also born in Poland, began playing the piano at the age of seven. He studied at the Academy of Music in Krakow and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln as well. The two musicians met while studying in Germany and quickly discovered their shared passion for classical music. They began performing together and soon realized that they had a special chemistry on stage. In 2005, they officially formed Duo Granat and began performing together professionally. Duo Granat has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. They have also performed at numerous music festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. One of the highlights of Duo Granat's career was their performance at the 2010 Nobel Prize Concert in Stockholm, Sweden. They were invited to perform alongside some of the world's most renowned musicians, including Plácido Domingo and Anne-Sophie Mutter. The concert was broadcast live to millions of viewers around the world and was a huge success. Duo Granat has also won numerous awards for their performances, including the Grand Prix at the International Chamber Music Competition in Krakow and the First Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Trapani, Italy. They have also been awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik Award in Germany for their recordings. In addition to their performances, Duo Granat is also dedicated to teaching and mentoring young musicians. They have held masterclasses and workshops around the world and have served as judges for various music competitions. Duo Granat's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. They are particularly known for their interpretations of the works of Polish composers, such as Karol Szymanowski and Henryk Wieniawski.
