Her father recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Storchio made her debut in 1892 at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, where she sang the role of Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto. Her performance was well-received, and she quickly became a sought-after performer in Italy. She went on to perform in many of the major opera houses in Italy, including La Scala in Milan and the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. In 1894, Storchio made her debut at the Royal Opera House in London, where she sang the role of Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata.
