He later continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he was taught by Professor Jiří Bárta. During his studies, Jan Kolár participated in numerous competitions and won several awards, including the first prize at the International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, in 2003. After completing his studies, Jan Kolár began his professional career as a soloist and chamber musician. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was invited to perform at major music festivals and concert halls around the world. Some of his most notable performances include his debut at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2008, where he performed Dvořák's Cello Concerto with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra.
