Born on May 22, 1961, in Bratislava, Slovakia, Margita grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a conductor, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Margita showed a keen interest in music and began singing in choirs and playing the piano. Margita's formal music education began at the Bratislava Conservatory, where he studied voice under the tutelage of Professor Ludmila Ivančíková. After completing his studies, Margita joined the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, where he made his professional debut in the role of Lensky in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. In 1990, he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in the role of Tamino in Mozart's The Magic Flute.
