Mario Hossen is a world-renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist, conductor, and educator. Born on October 22, 1977, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Hossen began his musical journey at the age of five when he started playing the violin. He showed exceptional talent from a young age and was soon recognized as a prodigy. Hossen's parents were both musicians, and they encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. He received his early training at the National School of Music in Sofia, where he studied under some of the most renowned violin teachers in Bulgaria. He also attended masterclasses with some of the world's leading violinists, including Zakhar Bron, Ruggiero Ricci, and Salvatore Accardo. In 1992, Hossen won first prize at the National Violin Competition in Bulgaria, which marked the beginning of his professional career. He went on to win several other prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the International Violin Competition in Belgrade in 1994 and the First Prize at the International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk, Russia, in 1995. Hossen's talent and hard work soon caught the attention of the international music community, and he was invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. In 1996, he made his debut at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, where he performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. This performance was widely acclaimed, and Hossen was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the years, Hossen has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors, such as Sir Neville Marriner, Yuri Temirkanov, and Vladimir Spivakov. In addition to his career as a soloist, Hossen is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has performed with some of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Borodin Quartet, the Tokyo String Quartet, and the Ysaÿe Quartet. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Classic FM Radio Orchestra in Sofia, Bulgaria, which is dedicated to promoting classical music in Bulgaria and beyond. Hossen's repertoire is vast and diverse, ranging from the Baroque era to contemporary music. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky. He is also a champion of contemporary music and has premiered several works by contemporary composers. Hossen's talent and dedication have earned him numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2003, he was awarded the Order of Stara Planina, one of Bulgaria's highest honors, for his contribution to the arts. He has also been awarded the Golden Lyre Award, the Crystal Lyre Award, and the Musician of the Year Award by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture. In addition to his performing career, Hossen is also a dedicated educator. He has taught at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, and the Tokyo College of Music. He is currently a professor of violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria.
