Anna Goldsworthy is a renowned Australian classical pianist, writer, and educator. She was born on June 30, 1974, in Adelaide, South Australia. Her parents were both musicians, and her father was a professor of music at the University of Adelaide. Goldsworthy grew up in a musical household and began playing the piano at the age of four. Goldsworthy's talent was evident from a young age, and she quickly became a prodigy. She won her first piano competition at the age of six and went on to win numerous awards and accolades throughout her childhood and teenage years. She studied at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide and later at the University of Melbourne, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree with first-class honors. Goldsworthy's career as a professional pianist began in earnest in the early 2000s. She quickly gained a reputation as one of Australia's most talented and versatile pianists, with a particular focus on contemporary and experimental music. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras and ensembles, including the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and the Australian String Quartet. One of Goldsworthy's most notable performances was her debut with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2003. She performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 to critical acclaim, and the performance was hailed as a breakthrough moment in her career. She has since gone on to perform with the orchestra on numerous occasions, including a performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in 2019.
