Deborah Polaski is a renowned American soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on November 5, 1949, in Buffalo, New York, Polaski grew up in a musical family. Her father was a jazz musician, and her mother was a singer. Polaski started singing at a young age and showed a natural talent for music. Polaski began her formal music education at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she studied voice. She later continued her studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. After completing her studies, Polaski made her professional debut in 1978 at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, where she sang the role of the Third Norn in Wagner's "Götterdämmerung." She has also been awarded the Order of Merit of Berlin and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Polaski has also been recognized for her recordings. She has recorded many of the leading roles in the opera repertoire, including Brünnhilde in Wagner's "Ring Cycle" and Lady Macbeth in Verdi's "Macbeth."
