Fantasiestücke (6), Op. 17 is a piano composition by Croatian composer Dora Pejacevic. It was composed in 1910 and premiered in Zagreb the same year. The piece consists of six movements, each with its own unique character and mood. The first movement, "Durchaus phantastisch und leidenschaftlich vorzutragen" (To be played entirely fantastically and passionately), is a fast-paced and energetic piece with a sense of urgency. The second movement, "Mäßig. Durchaus energisch" (Moderately. Entirely energetic), is more subdued and introspective, with a melancholic melody that builds to a powerful climax. The third movement, "Langsam getragen. Durchweg leise zu halten" (Slowly carried. To be played entirely softly), is a hauntingly beautiful piece with a delicate melody that is played softly throughout. The fourth movement, "Rasch und mit Feuer" (Quickly and with fire), is a fiery and intense piece with a driving rhythm and virtuosic piano passages. The fifth movement, "Adagio. Mit innigem Ausdruck" (Adagio. With intimate expression), is a tender and emotional piece with a lyrical melody that is played with great sensitivity. The final movement, "Allegro molto. Mit Feuer" (Allegro molto. With fire), is a lively and energetic piece with a playful melody and a sense of joy and exuberance. Overall, Fantasiestücke (6), Op. 17 is a masterful work that showcases Pejacevic's skill as a composer and pianist. The piece is characterized by its rich harmonies, virtuosic piano passages, and emotional depth, and it remains a beloved work in the piano repertoire to this day.
