Trio Rafale is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008. The group consists of three members: pianist Anna Petrova, violinist Bogdan Božović, and cellist Maja Bogdanović. The ensemble has gained international recognition for their dynamic performances and unique interpretations of classical music. Anna Petrova was born in Bulgaria and began playing the piano at the age of five. She studied at the National Music Academy in Sofia and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany. Petrova has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, and the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship. She has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hannover Chamber Orchestra. Bogdan Božović was born in Serbia and began playing the violin at the age of six. He studied at the Music Academy in Belgrade and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany. Božović has won many awards, including first prize at the International Violin Competition in Novi Sad, Serbia, and the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal, Germany. He has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hannover Chamber Orchestra. Maja Bogdanović was born in Serbia and began playing the cello at the age of seven. She studied at the Music Academy in Belgrade and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany. Bogdanović has won many awards, including first prize at the International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, and the International Cello Competition in Padua, Italy. She has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hannover Chamber Orchestra. The three musicians met while studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover and formed Trio Rafale in 2008. The ensemble's name, Rafale, is French for "gust of wind" and reflects their desire to bring a fresh and dynamic approach to classical music. Trio Rafale has performed in many prestigious venues around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. They have also performed at many international music festivals, including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in Croatia, and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara de Aguascalientes in Mexico. The ensemble has received many awards and accolades for their performances. In 2010, they won first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka, Japan. They were also awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship in 2012, which provides financial support and career development opportunities for exceptional young musicians. Trio Rafale has recorded several albums, including their debut album, "Trio Rafale Live," which was released in 2010. The album features live recordings of the ensemble's performances at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Their second album, "Trio Rafale Plays Beethoven," was released in 2013 and features the ensemble's interpretations of Beethoven's piano trios.
